“You were engaged, as a writer should be, in transforming yourself. When I read your collected stories I was moved to see the transformation taking place on the printed page. There’s nothing that counts really except this transforming action of the soul…”
Saul Bellow’s Letters
What do you see when you look into a grey painting?
Some will say they get blue, some would just pass by
But a few would stay and spend time
Examine it deeply from side to side
and even from within
He is one of the few
He goes towards it and applies as many colors as he can think of
He dies the canvas thoroughly
And when he is done
There is no way he will leave the room unscathed
